Sleeping Hermaphroditus, Louvre.
This is the statue of Hermaphroditus that the Borghese Galley sold to the Louvre in 1807.
I couldn’t resist so, related to my last post, I ended up adding this one as well. It is rather ironic thinking back at the Nazi policy concerning the beauty of the body and the virility of the nation. I really appreciate the picture starting from this consideration.
